September 2, 5.5. p.m.) , ■ LONDON, September 1 Since the ppcration last April there have been no important actions on the I Palestine front, conditions on each side consisting more or less of trench war- j fare. The opposing lines arc close together near Gaza but gradually grow further apart as they enter the barren and inhospitable region further south, until finally they trail off altogether in the desert, where the Anzacs and the Imperial Mounted Division keep watch over the right flank.
