FATTY ARBUCKLE TO-DAYS
MATINEE.
Fatty Arbuckle the youngsters' delight will be seen again at McLean's matinee to-day which commences at 2.30 p.m.. in the hilarious comedy, "The Butcher Boy." The picture will be presented again this evening as the chief support of the great star drama "A Girl Like That!" SUNDAY A BRILLIANT METRO. On Sunday evening the remarkable consistency and merit of the Metro wonderplays will be further exemplified by the five part photoplay. "The ounbeam," in which the clever artist Mabel Taliaferro is featured at the head of a strong cast. The picture with its delicately handled touches of pathos bright humour, and dever characterisation, appeals with irrestible force to all classes of picture patrons. Some thirty children are introduced and are- allowed to romp and behave naturally, and a good choice has been made for the part of "Bobby." The original story was from the pen of Shannon Fife and has been well adapted to the screen., Mabel Taliaferro is very pleasing as Prue Mason and girl of the Candy Factory, and who is known as the "Sunbeam." because of the brightness and cheerfulness of her sunny nature,, which is, however, put to a severe test when her "pal" Janny is arrested for robbery, and also when she shoulders the burdens of the little widow and her son Bobby. However, the Sunbeam lives up to her .name and happiness is brought to the sorrowing ones around her. The picture has been highly praised by the critics, being described as an unusually pleasing subject unusually well done and it will be a hardened cynic that will not feel the lump in his throat, and tears very near the surface at times, and who will not be highly diverted at the escapades of Bobby and the thirty children. Mabel Taliaferro, one of the most versatile and popular young actress will become moire popular for her excellent performance in "The Sunbeam."
