The committee of thd Canterbury Industrial Association parsed the following motion to-n,ight: 'jThat in view of the first ballot for thk Second Division being taken within the next three months it is imperative in fairness to the men belonging to this division to prevent as far is possible the dislocation of business and to minimise industrial disorganisation that local or trying-out campsl should Jbe established, so that no man would/ be obliged to give up his business or his situation absolutely sure tnait when sent to Trentham he would! not be turned •down as medically until) that the position be placed- before,! the Efficiency Board with a request [to the board to go into the 'matter anil to recommend tho Government aeeoiilingly. "
