PARIS, July 8., The Chamber of Deputies has concluded a several days' secret debate on the conduct of operations. It adopted a vote of) confidence in the Government by 275 votes to 23, after a stirring appeal by M. Painlove for the continuance and endurance of • the union which the country had hitherto shown till victory had been achieved. M. Ptiinleve was accorded an ovation. The Minister lor the Interior stated that as a result of the strikes, Avhich were purely economic ajid had been settled by the patriotism of the workmen and employers and the support of labour c rgunisatious, stringent orders had been given to stop pacifist propaganda, tending to weaken the morale of the people.
