Sir Douglas Haig reports : We successfully raided south-east of Hagricourt and north of YpreS. We'drove off an attempted raid eastward of Loos.

There was aerial fighing yesterday chiefly ebtween Lens and Ypres. In this area a large number of enemy machines were encountered. Despite the neemy's pronounced activity w^c bombed and damaged aerodromes.

We carried out sucessful artillery work and secured photography. The enemy dropped 144 bombs on our side of the line. Our machines dropped three times that number on the enemy's side.
