LONDON, July 8,
A French communique states: Ene-, my airmen raided the Nancy region' on Friday. The hospital was bombed and three, people were killed and four wounded. Several were wounded at Epcrnay. Eighty-four French machines carried out a series of brilliant operations on Frid^^gs^ght, some attacking towns far iuto~^the enemy territory. As reprisals for the German bombardments eleven of our' aeroplanes dropped 2i tons of bombs on Trcvcs, causing fires. Six machines bombed Ludwigshafen. The great Baden aniline works are aflame. One pilot boinbe'd the Krupn works at Essen. The machines started at 9.20 o'clock in the evening and returned at 4.15 in the morning, recovering 440 miles. Military Cotablishnlvts at Coblentz and, the stations at llirson and Thionville were bombed. Altogether 13 J.Jons of bombs were dropped. Two of' our machines have not returned.
