LONDON. July 3. Mr. Philip Gibbs says : There was great srunfire at Lens on Sunday The Canadians pushed* further through Avion and southwards near Cresnoy and Oppy. The Canadians celebrated the Dominion's anniversary by a 'special shoot at midday. All the howitzers fired a tremendous salvo at the enemy's lines. The Germans, apparently aniioved retaliated with great quantities /of ,8-inch shells.
