PREPARING GREAT OFFENSIVE
(Rec. July 3, 6..^0 p.m.) PETROGRAD. July 2. Though the enemy is bombarding our first lines, small detachments at night come to the entanglements and attempt to deliver peace phamplets and presents of wine and brandy which the Russians reject.
German deserters state 'that naval operations on a grand scale are prenarinjr in the Gulf of Riga and troops from other fronts are being concentrated. Formidable trenches and armoured works are being constructed General von Hindenhurtr and Luden dorff are expected to inspcet the prftnpratimis for n big attack on the Riga front in Tulv.
