— a» — MR W. R. COOK FOUND DEAD. Mr William Re Cook, the well-Jknown accountant, was found dead in his bed . at the Post Office Hotel, Hokitika, yes- I terday morning. The deceased had j been in failing health for some years ' past. He was formerly a well-known j 'i business man in Dunedin and Christ- ! church, when he was a member of the i firm of Cook and Grey, of Dunedin.! He came to the West Coast at the'time " of the dredging boom/ .and suffered serious busines s losses thereirom. Mr !Cook was a' well educated man, and ? had a f undv of information, his anecdotes and recitations being a feature! at many festive gatherings. For some ' j time -as£ he had been residing at Ho- . kitika. The news of. his sudden do-: raise will be regretted by many friends. The deceased wa g about 60 years of ■ '-ige.
