Sergeant Arthur Farfitt, who has been visiting his • parents,- Mr and Mrs C. Parfitt, on -final leave, left en route to Trentham yesterday.

The many friends of "Mr J. Trus cott will regret to hear of the death of his sister, Mrs Black, of Auckland. The deceased, Avho had been ailing for some time, leaves a husband and family of twelve, six sons and six daugh ters (ten of whom are married), to mourn their loss.
The following passengers ar* rived by the express last evening : Messrs Sheedy, Merrett, Anderson, Ward, Galiardi, Dr Mandl, Sergeant Taylor, Capt. Shelton, Mesdam.es Batty, Brycc, O'Neill, Hal»er, Anderson ; Misses ' Falla and Morris.
Captain Con way, who prior to going on active service was clerk in the Greymouth Magistrate's Court, returned on Monday night Captain Conway made a name for himself at Gallipoli, and was men tioned in despatches. At the Suv la Bay landing he received a bullet wound in the chest, tbe lung being pierced, and he was also shot in the liver. In spite of his trying experiences Captain Coir way looks fairly well.
