ARAHURA STOCK SALE
The usual fortnightly stock sale took place at the above yard on Friday, when there was an extra yarding of cattle and sheep submitted, 131 head of cattle, 65 sheep and 36 lambs being penned.
Competition was not drisk, as much of the staff yarded were rough and unfinished. The following sales were recorded : —
Fat Cattle.— Messrs. Spot, * Jeffries and Co., sold on account of Mr. H. Diedrich, 16 bullocks at from £8 2s 6d to. .£3 10s ; on account Mr. W. Oiderog, 6 vealers at from £2 16s to £4 ,10s, 4cows £2 15s to £4 17s 6d, 5 steers from 2s 6d to £6 ; on account Mr. John Diedrich, 6 bullocks, from ;£6 2s 6d to £8 ss; 15 heifers, £6 2s 6d to ;£io ios ; on account Mr. James Thomson, 2 steers at £6 ifs and £9 7s 6d, 8 heifers from £7 7s 6d to £S, one vealer at £4 12s 6d, one vealer at £6 ios, 4 cows at £$ 12s 6d ; on account Mr. H. Johnston, 2 heifers at £7 17s 6d; on account Mr. G. J. Mclhtosn, 4 bullocks from 5s 10 £12 15s.
A large entry of store cattle on account of various clients, sold well up to market prices.
Sheep. — Messrs. Sprot, Jeffries and % Co., sold on account of Mr. J. Olsen, 33. wethers at 26s 3d, 22 ewes at 22s 6d, 10 ewes at 16s Qd ; on account W. Jones, 3 woolly lambs at 15s iod, 5 shorn lambs at 12s 4d.
Messrs. G. W. Moss and Co. sold on accoxint of Mr. H. Diedrich, 24 .uilocks, from £13 7s 6d to £8 175 Co, and one heifer, £g ; on acount f Mr. John Diedrich, 4 heifers at £6 15s; on account of Mr. W. Diedrich, one cow at £4; one vealer at £2 17s 6d.
