RECRUITING FIGURES
WELLINGTON, December 29. •■The figures show the percentages of recruits contributed by each of the four | military, districts for the week ended "December 25th, were issued by the Defence Department to-day. : They show a slight improvement on the pUrt of the South Island^ altnough both Canterbury and ;* dtago ' are still short of their 'full quotas. On the basis of the "number of men of military age in. the districts the North Island contributed 71.22 of total number of recruits, although its quota was only (50.S per cent. The percentages of registrations for the last week were i as follows :— (The figures for the preceding week being shown for comparison.)
