.*»_ OPERA HOUSE TO-MOj&lw W NIGHT To-morrow night Mr. Tom Pollard has arranged to present Stanley MTcKay and Co/s Pantomime Co., in the Opera House, the opening production being "Mother Goose," or the goose that laid the golden' egg. The present company has been playing Australia for the last couple of years, and a few weeks back commenced a tour 01 iNew Zealand under the direction of Mr # George Stephensou, whose name will be well remembered on the Coast as a representative footballer and theatrical entrepreneur. The Auckland season of Stanley McKay's "Mother Goose" Co. lasted three weeks, which is easily a record for •pantomime production in New Zealand. The Auckland "Star" and the New Zealand Herald," as Avell as the Aveekly papers, speak in high terms of both the company and the production. Besides being a success artistically, the members did all in their power to help the various patriotic- funds, anvi as a result succeeded in i|aising in Auckland alone over £100U, while during their tour through the smalls a sum running into hundreds of pounds has been thrown on the stage during the singing by Miss Essie Jennings of "Your King and Country Need You." The principals are headed by Mr. James Gerald, ("Mother Goose"), Mr Will Rayner, ( >4 Old King Cole"), Miss Essie Jennings ("Boy Blue"), Miss Rosie Uoleman (".Little Red Riding Hood"), and Miss Carmen Colemau ("Johnny' Stout.") A full ballet, chorus and orchestra arc carried as well as a number of excellent speciality turns, lue whole making one of" the most complete pantomimes that have ever been brought to the West Coast. The repertoire of the company includes the fascinating extravaganza.
