A STORMY BOXING DAY.
LONDON, December 28. .. Tt was the stormiest Boxing Day in memory. Thousands, of acres of low-lying land were in flood, especially the j Severn and Thames valleys. Telegraphic communication was interrupted. There were severe gales in the Channel and vessels wer in distrsss off Deal. There wore- several daring lifeboat rescues. - The Whakatane arrived at Gravesend damaged. It is reported that there was a' collision in the Downs. j
