HOSPITAL DINNER The usual Christmas Dinner at the Hospital .was presided over by His Worship the Mayor, Mr; G, E. Perkins Dr. McKay, Hon. Surgeon was also pre sent. Rev. Ayrton and Mr. O'Brien, of Runanga also arrived before the conclusion. The toaat list included "The King," 'The Medical Superintendent • matron Norses, and Staff," proposed by theMayor, and replied to by Mr % Ayrton, on behalf of the Nursing Staff, and "The Mayor," proposed by Mr. James Morris. , . ■ Tne following telegram was also read and our soldier boys toasteu: "Please convey to a ll soldiers in hospital very sincere wish for a happy Xmas and a prosperous New Year, ana that they may speedil yrecover and be able to return to duty." — G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs. The function concluded by singing the National Anthem.
