A.Loudon cable message states .that Hon H. H. Asquith is still absent from the sittings of the House of Commons. ,'l'lic many friends of Mr Kichard Larkin, member of the Grey County Council for the Nelson Creek Hiding, will regrut to learn tliat he is iudis_ posed, aud has beeu compelled to become an inmate of the Greymoulh Hos pital. We regret to record the death of Walter Rogers, who passed peacefully | away at Bluckdu.ll on Tuesday, after an illness of some duration. The deceased was a well-known resident of the district, having been prominently and honourbaly associated with the labour movement for many years. He had lilled the position of secretary to the Blackball Miners' Union fora considerable period and was noted for the painstaking and efficient manner in which he carried out the duties appertaining to the office. He leaves a wife and six daughters (including Mrs Hickey, Mrs McDougall, and Mrs Wilkinson), and three sons to mourn tne loss of a good husband and a kind father. To the relatives will go forth much sympathy in their sad bereavement.
