OFF TO THE FRONT
<*. ST. JOHN'S INSTITUTE FAREWELLS MR. R. TENNENT. Th members of St. John's Men's Institute met at their rooms, Guiness. toirect, to bid "Au revoir" to their secretary, Mr Robert Tennent. Mr Tennent has taken a very active part in tne institute since its inception and all members eulogised his services, and while rcgreting his departure, complimented him on offering his service to his Kiug and country. A presentation of a pocket wallet and sovereign belt was made, and the members adjourned to Harker's Tea Ronis, where they were joined by several members of Trinity Institute. Amongst those present was Mr Wienink, who has also volunteered for active service, and who has been identified with the work of St Joint's Several toasts were proposed, that of "Our guest, Mr Tennent," being proposed by tho Rev W. Trotter, and that .of "St. John's Institute," being pro. posed by Mr Wilson, president of the Trinity Institute, and was responded to by Mr Joseph McLean, president of St John's. Several members contributed recitations, and a very pleasant evening ended with the singing of tho National Anthem.
