FOOTBALL
SEVEN A SIDE 1 TOURNAMENT.
VICTORIA PARK, TO-DAY,
Seven-a-side football has always been held in high esteem by the football public on account of the extreme openness and speed of the play, and mere weight counts for less in the seven-a-side than in any other form of football. The response in the present seven-a-side tournament has exceeded expectations, and should the weather to-mor-row prove favourable there will be a tremendous crowd of players of the various grades, viz., Primary schools, secondary schools, Fourth Grade, ' and Seniors. The total number for all games is one hundred and eighty two players, and in such a large number there are necessarily some extreme•v fast and clever players. The schoolboys are taking a great interest in the tournament and the games between the •uious school teams will be most interesting to spectators, as boy's games invariably are. The Fourth Grade 1 teams this year have quite a numbei of very gooft, clever players, as has been shown by their form in~the matches played, and the games "Between the best sevens will be productive of keen struggles. The Senior tournament .is for possession of the beautifid Trotting 11 ub Shield, and competition is sure to be very keen for this -coveted trophy. The senior teams this year will provide brilliant sevens and good games are certain.
