OFFICIAL REPORT.
WELLINGTON, July 2. The High Commissioner reports from London, under date of July Ist, as follows : — The German attack reported in Ar«onne yesterday was particularly violent. The forces engaged equalled two divisions. The attack was arrested, two fresh attempts on the French trenches on the Binarville road were repulsed. A violent enemy attack in the region of. Metzeral .*yas completely stopped., —The-^GermaiLjflsses jvere important. ■ . - PABIS. June 1. A communique states : The German attack on Argonne yesterday was particularly violent: It is estimated that two diviisons were engaged in the attack. We checked another violent attack at Metzeral, and also completely checked the Hermans who sustained important losses.
