General Botha's movements are rapid, and lie has performed extraordinary marching in dense and almcst. waterless bush country. The enemy have been effectually harassed in spite of possessing railway advantages behind them and their retirement is more suggestive of a flight than a retreat. The prisoners released include Mr. Stewart, the Magistrate at Reitfontein, who was -captured, early in the war, the manager of the Eastern Telegraph Coy., at Swakopmund and Doctor Wagner, the Pretoria geologist. They state that they were none too well treated by the Germans.
