♦ KEALS ARRESTED YESTERDAY BODY OF BABY DISCOVERED. CHOKED TO DKATH. BY TELEGBAPH — PEB PJtESS "ASSOCIATION AUCKLAND, February 14. The young man -Norman Keal.s wanted oif a charge of murder in connection with tlie death of his sister-in-law Mrs. Kdith l^iu 111:1 Ken Is and of the abduction of her baby was arrested this after I'OOJI. The body of the missing child was also found. Over 100 settelers assisted the police in gradually drawing in a cordon which surrounded an area of bush in which Keals w-is believed to be hiding. Keals was driven from cover to cover in densely timbered country, and was ultimately caught hiding in a tree. "When called on to surrender he did so without showing any resistance, a iid was immediately surrounded and handcuffed. The man was in a pitiable state and his face v.nd- clothing bore evidence of the terrible ordeal through which he has passed during the past few days. The first enquiry of those making the arrest was naturally in regard to the baby, and Keals indicated where it would be found. The searchers accompanied him to the spot near Opuatia creek where the body of the six weeks old baby was found. It is reported that the child hud been choked to death. The man was secured in some dense but-h not f'"ir distant from Keal's homestead. It is reported that Keals has made a full statement to the police.
