First Flight and Quarantine worked at the mile just breaking 1.29.

Snub' and Spangle cantered on the grass, and Bonny Dream and Wishful were allotted a similar task.

Marvelight traversed five furlongs in 1.61-5 on the plough, and Margaret and'Uranean ran half a mile in 52 2-5.

Encore and Don Francisco were put over six, furlongs which they covered in 1.19 2-5- .

Neither Golden King nor Red Charm was fully extended while travelling five, furlongs in 1.9 2-5.

Moulu worked steadily over a couple of circuits, and Warstep and Chrysotia were trotting and cantering.

. Noves, Downsteepy and the Down-Bhire-Cyre gelding, were to break away from the half mile on grass,, but the start was mulled, and the gallop over three furlongs did not furnish a correct line to the merit of . the trio. Noves, however, is obviously smart to begin, and as far as could be judged put up the best display.

Martius and Findhorn worked stea»ily over a cireuit> and then covered a mile, at a fairly solid pace. After a •breather they were again cantered. ~ Waitara and Carolus covered six fur-

longs in 1.18 3-5, and Slogan worked stefadily over a couple of circuits.

Peerless took 1.20 to cover six furlongs, and Troon registered 1.36 2-5 in getting over the last seven furlongs of a- mile. • Rencontre and Lion broke away at seven-* furlongs. Others out before breakfast included Moonglow, Victoria, Horoscope, Parable, Speedometer, Kirn, Roumaln^a, Volspil and Sauce.

After breakfast Carpet Knight did usual work. ■

Chicic ran five furlongs in 1.0 4-5,

United Service was not bustled when getting over half a mile in 57sec, and Russo followed at a more leisurely pace.

Ogier stood Birkbeck three or four lengths at the start of half a mile, and after picking up Taft ran home in front in 50 1-5.

Kingsway and Moddie ran half a mile in 51sec. the latter doing its best towards the finish.

Rongahere drew out a bit from Pride 0' Clutha when winding up a seven furlongs gallop, the last six taking 1.22.

Red Pennon shaped fairly well in galloping six furlongs in 1.21 1-5.

= Ardenhor and Blitz after trotting and cantering worked half a mile on the grass in 55 2-5 sec, the latter shaping more freely than the former.

Gnome cantered a couple of circuits, and Lord Frederick and KiaoTa were schooled over the hurdles. The latter ran off at two fences, and the former after dwelling a bit at one obstacle and getting up. too high, at one crossed the last couple of obstacles in fairly good style.

Cardiff, St. Aidin, Leading Lady, Bon and about a dozen others not engaged at the meeting were also on the track.
