ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 7

At the Addington stock yards there were larger entries of store and fat sheep and fat cattle. There was a good attendance. The entry of fat cattle showed much improvement in duality over last week's. There was good competition, an export buyer opeiating in prime cattle, but prices were hardly as firm. There was a better sale for fat lambs, though price? were not quite equal to those of last week for prime lambs. Fat sheep were on a par to is easier. STORE SHEEP. Quotations are as follows : — Best hoggets 15s to 16s 3d, fair to medium hoggets 14s to 14s 6d, very medium hoggets 12s to 12s 6d 3 small and inferior hoggets 10s, best ewe hoggets 18s 6d to 20s id, fair ewe hoggets to 17s, small and inferior ewe hoggets 13s 7^. good conditioned ewes with forward lambs 13s 6d (all counted), fairly good ewes with lambs us gd (all counted) aged ewes with lambs 8s gd (all counted), aged Merino ewes wth lambs 5s 3d (all counted), forward four-tooth wethers igs to 20s, forward two and four-tooth wethers to igs, four and six-tooth wethers iSs sd, two-tooth wethers 17s 6d. FAT LAMBS. Best made iSs 6d to 21s o,d, and lighter /6s gd to fSs. FAT SHEEP . The range of prices was as folio, ws : — rExtra prime wethers to 3gs, prime wethers 27s to 34s 6d, others 22s 'to 26s 6d prime ewes 25s to 34s 3d, others igs 3d to 24s 6d, shorn ewes 24s to 26s 3d, hoggest 14s to 255, Merino wethers 20s lod to 27s 6d. FAT CATTLE. Quotations are as follows :—Ordinary steers £7 17s 6d to £12, extra steers to ,£2o s s , ordinary heifers ' £6 los to ;£cS 10s, extra heifers to ,£l4? ordinary cows to £14 17s 6d. The price per loolb was 35s to 455. STORE CATTLE. Quotations :-^Yearlings 30s to £2, the latter for good; 15 to iS-months sorts £2 10s to two-year steers ,£4 10s (good), two-year heifers £3 12s to /4 three-year heifers £4 igs 6d, cows 35s to £6 6s, dairy cows £3 10s to £10. FAT PIGS. Quotations : — Choppers 60s to toos extra heavy baconers to 80s, heavy baconers 67s to 755, lighter baconers 52s 6d to 675. The price per lb was 6d. . Heavy porkers 365" to 40 s - The price per lb was 6d to 6-J-d-STORE PIGS. Quotations are as follows -.—Large stores 33s to 3gs, medium stores 255 to 325, small stores iSs to 245, ers 1 8s to 245, weaners 12s to 17s bd.
