Alexander, s.s., sailed last evening for Wanganui with a cargo of coal. Waverley, s.s., arrived last night from Wellington, via way ports, and after discharging inward cargo, returned to Westport to load for Wanganui. Waimea, s.s., en route from Wellington left Nelson last evening for Westport and Greymouth and is due here to-night. On discharge of general cargo, she loads State coal ; for Picton. Kennedy, s.s., leaves Wellington on Friday, for Greymouth, via way ports and is due here on Monday. Captain Clifford, of the E.M.S. Kuapehu, who remained in England during the liner's previaus visit to New Zealand on account of ill-health, has rejoined his vessel. Captain Doorley/of the Kaiapoi, left that vessel at Wellington on SatuTday last, and Captain Hamand took command of her. M^. Bowditch, late of the Zealandia, has joined the Ulimaroa as chief steward, relieving Mr. Stone, who has beer granted holiday leave. Mr. Miles ha* rejoined the Zealandia as chief stew ard. . ; - , Captain J. D. Daniels, who is makmj his' first visit to the Dominion, is ii command of the steamer Mamatrie now at Lyttelton.
