BELL OUTED IN TWO BOUNDS

-' . LONDON, .Tune 31. Bombardier Wells won his boxing match with Bell. In the second round Wells got in a tremendous upper-cut/ on to the jaw and Bell was counted out. Bell entered the ring first and was greeted "with "coo-ees." Wells received a tremendous ovation. He was trained to the hour, though he showed some traces of anxiety. There was a dead silencve when the bout began. Betting was five to four on Wells, but there was little wagering owing to the way Wells had' frequently disappointed his supporters of late. Bell was unconcerned and chatted quietly and confidently with his second. Bell immediately went in for the body crouching and getting in with his head low down. When Wells got loose he crashed a terrific right-hand punch to the jaw, which Bell stood. withou tftnch ing. The Australian was repeatedly dipped in the clinches and tried to reach 'Bombardier's kidneys. There was considerable hooting and cries of "Foul!" Blcl hit very hard in the clinches, but Wells, though worried, kept his head and managed to block' the majority of the blows. I Early in the round a sensation was caused by a spectator attempting to clamber through the ropes as a protect agains tthe match. He nearly succeeded, but Bell's seconds seized and pulled him back, and attendants carried him out. There was much confusion at the ringside, but the men were undisturbed. Directly the gong went for the second round Bell rushed in and flung a wicked left at Well's body but the latter saw it coming and dodged. Bell was full of determination. ! The end came with startling suddenness. The men were hugging each other when Wells' arm swung clear as Bell 's left dropped, and Bombardier shot his right on the Australian's jaw.
