The general strike is subsiding, although many violent scenes are still I being en-acted. ■ In Ravenna yesterday the Republicans, Socialists, and Anarchists, w.ho in the past have fought one another, ioined in a riotous campaign against the author'ties until troops drove tihem into the Labor exchanges, where they are now besieged At the close of » mass.meeting messenyrcrs; were despatched to the surrounding- country with instructions to 1 "adherents of the cause" to gather their forces and., oppose the authorities. Simultaneously with this move, a reign of vandalism began. Rioters'entered a church jand destroyed all the sacred objects on which they could I lay hands, otfhex things in the shape 1 of pictures and collecting boxes being stolen. Te mob removed the confessional 1;, benches, and pulpit^ and formed a 'barricade across the street outsid the church, filling- in 'he, open spaces with chairs, statues, candlesticks, and crucifixes.
