There was much disorder at tht central post office, until late this after noon when there was *a sudden truce. The malcontents, mostly junior post men, kept the seniors, who declined to strike, within the building for seven hours without food. The latter" lowered cords for, the purpose of ihauling- up food but the poldce cut the cords believing thai this was stopping the strikers' supplies.
