WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. At the Supfeme;. Court Elsie Reynolds, a young married woman, plead ed not guilty to afcharg-e of opening a reg-istered postal packet and delaying the delivery of the same to -the perspn to whom it was addressed, and obtaining the _ delivery ot the same :ildm . a pos taf employee '• by means of false pretences. , The jury returned a verdict of guilty on. all .three counts, but added that accused had not the slightest criminal intent. : The Chief Justice ordered Mass Rev ■nolds to come up: for sentence when upon. -: Robert Hill denied in ;a^ riot in Taranaki, Street on November 4th, when a- row occurred during uwhich the Royal Ti^er Hotel was con s-iderablv knocked about. ■ The Jury disagreed, and a new trial was ordered. Robert James Christopher Seal pleaded not guilty :to. a charge of de.stroying the wharf - barricade on Ont ober.24th. • The Jury: found him -guilty with # the •recorprnendation that it be taken into consideration that accussd - had been two months 'in gaol.
