Yesterday afternoon, Albert Durant, having pleaded guilty in the Lower Court, was brought up for sentence before His Honour Mr. Justice Sim on the following charges (1) That he did on or about' the. gth day of November, 1912, at Otira, steal one bottle of Peppermint Cure, one bottle Irish Moss, one razor and case, one bottle pain-killer, one bottle Pepso, shaving soap and white lilac soap of. the value of 1.7s cjd, also, the sum of the. property of James Patterson; (2) that, on October 15th at Blackball, he did steal one albert and medal to the. value of ,{5 ios the property of Thomas McGuinness; (3) on October 7th at Blackball he did steal one gold albert and medal the property _.of -Patrick Keaves ; (4) on March Vst., between Grey-mouth and Rcefton, he did steal three books valued at £2, the property of Edwin Ashton. Prisoner was asked whether he had anything to say and responded in tho negative. His Plonour asked whether anything was known about accused. - Mi".
