Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., and Mrs. Riddell were spectators of theaccident. It was found that Father Yenning had sustained concussion of the brain and fracture of the skull. Dr. Pattie"and Dr. Martin were called but held out Tittle hope, and deceased passed away a few hours later. He appeared to regain consciousness as the last rites were being administered by Rev. Fathers at the Presbytery, Hill Street. Father Yenning was 33 years oTa, and a native of Timarii, being the son of Mr. John Yenning, of that town. He studied at St.~Ta trick's College, Wellington, and at St. Mary's Schoolasticate, Meanec, Hawkes Bay, being ordained in IQO3. Kor some time he "was on the staff of St. Patrick's College. He tKen worked in various parisßes in the Wellington Arch Diocese. • He was a man of tireless energy and did good work for St. Vincent De Paul Socity and rnissiin and rescue work genrally.
