Sir Rufus Isaacs emphatically denied outside insinuations concerning the Government, himself or brother in connection with the contract or shares. Hon. Herbert Samuel categorically denied the rumours ihat certain . f the members of the^ Government had t;4 en advantage of their knowledge of the negotiations proceeding to make heavy profits in Marconi shares. The House agreed to Mr. Samuel's riiotion to appoint a select committee to inquire into the agreement. • The Daiily Telegraph, Daily Mail and Morning Post express. their entire confidence in the Government's integrity arid declare that Sir Rufus Isaacs and the Hon.
