. . (Per Press Association.) ROWINC. ' MEETING OF N.Z. ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 13. The annual meeting of delegates to '. the New Zealand Arnatcur Rowing Association was- held on Saturday night. The election ' of officers resulted as / follows :— President, Hon. H. D. Bell; . Vice-Presidents, Messrs. A. S. Biss, F. D. Ktesfceven ; Council : Messrs. E. •E. Hammond, T,. lnnes, R. M. Isaacs, George, Lauchlan; R. W. Mc- ;. VilJey, B. A. Moris and J. E. Wid- ' dop. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. G. C. Fache. ' The secretary of the New Zealand Olympic Council wrote that at the last meeting of the Council" ai resolution was passed that, with a view to establishing a permanent New Zealand Olympic fund, the governing" body of all sports interested would be recommended to contribute nominal annual subscriptions, say sixpence per club member, which sum coufd be cbllected as registration fee or otherwise. It was decided to inform the Olympic Council that, as the members of the Association Wer"e not eligible to compete at Olympic games the Association could not impose any levy; but would be willing, to make a donation to the funds as on former occasion. An application from J. M. Jackson, Auckland, for reinstatement as an amateur was refused. With reference to the subject of, amateur status which was touched on in the report, the following -"tnoibn was carried : That in the opinion of this meeting of delegates the present rule governing the definition of an amateur should be amended to allow o\ \ New Zealand oarsmen competing inAustralia and elsewhere, and that the . Council go on collecting data with a view to bringing the matter before a special meeting of delegates in Wellington at the time of the Championship Regatta. j WelHDgton Association was granted ! permission to hold a regatta, on Port Nicholson. ■ 'An honorarium of 15 guineas was , voted to the retiring secretary.
