TO PREVENT UNEVEN EXPLOSION. .

A -trial was made at Port Chalmers on Thursday of Mr. John Tai-'s boiler c'rculatar. Thf appliance was "tested on the dredge Progress, and was favourably commented upon by those present. Getting up seam on a big boiler usually "results in \inequal expansion of the iboiler plates, owing to the heated wa>.er rising upwards, '■ leaving tho water in the bottom of : the boiler much cooler (than t"he- water ' above. This 'problem has up ! to the present never <been solved satisfactorily, and if Mr. Tai^s invention 'fulfils requiremen-s, a highly soicoessfiul future is assured for it.
