WELLINGTON, May 14 The Management .Committee of the New Zealand /Rugby Union met ' ronight. An appeal, for a contribution towards the fund for the purchase of pictures.' iox .the National Art Gallery was referred to A'ho annual meeting-. Wellington Rugby Union wrote asking that as"the amount of the loan, of ;£4OOO had 'been half paid off the oomuniitttee consider the question of reducing the rate of interest from 3 per cent to 2^ per cent. The amoun^ outstanding is ;£1950. The matter was referred to ,the incoming committee. The disqualification of twelve months imposed on T. Rapson by the Wellington Rugby Union was made general. An application by E. R Watikin for ■reinstatiement was declined. Poverty Bay Association wrote urging the reinstatement of players -in thar district as a check to the growth of the Northern League ganle. It was ,■ wellknown, said the letter, ithat football in Hawke's Bay last season was a fiasco ■owing- to the strides made by this League game. Jt was reasonable to asisunie that a number of smaller unions had already been -approached with prhaps a prospect! of an early rep>reseritative match and a return igame *0' induce them. The letter was referred to the annual meeting.
