A SCENIC RESERVE. ■ . DANNEVIRKE, May 14. -.. Members of the deputation waking upon tne'! Premier in regard to giving road access to the scenic aeservie gazetted wer e disappointed^ at the reception accorded them. The, Mayor explained the heed for the road, -as the ■reserve is surrounded by private properties; but ithe Premier said that the I policy of the Department was not to give acces s to reserves. Another member of the deputation wanted to know the. value of the re-^ serve if people could not g-ain access The Premier— "You can >. a kie it from me that you won't get a road." Continuing he said that if people were gken access tio. the reserve 'they would destroy it.
