B LACKM AN— HARRIS

A very quiet, 'tmt pretlty Avodding, -was .solemnised in St John's Presbyterian Church yesterday morning, when' Mr. F. W. Blackman of Kotuku, was united in holy wedlock to Miss L. J.. Harris, third daughter of the Avell-known and highly -respected residents of Greenstone Mr. and Mrs S. R. Harris. The Rev. R. Stewart conducted the happy ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss A. E. W. Harris, and Miss E. Harcourt as ibridesmaids, and iliß bridegroom by Mr. If. Pierson as bestman. The brido was beautifully altered '" a dress of white silk, trimmed with ..silk insertion and- embroidered with] orange blossom. She also wore the orthodox wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet, the fftft of Mrs Harcourt, of Cobden. j -The bridesmaids' d-ps.sp> were of I cream silk trimmed with silk insertion. They wore large black picture hats, and canned bouquets. The bridegroom's present to the brido was a gold chain, and to the bridesmaids gold 'brooches set with rubies. The bride's veil was also the gift of a friend. The other presents were nu'm-ei-ous and costly, testifying :t o the 1 popularity of the young couple. After the ceremony the parly proceeded to the Victoria Tea* Rooms, where a sump'-uous wedding' breakfast had been, provided, ait which the usual toasts were duly honored. The party then drove to Runanga and back, and to-day the hanpv couple leave, for Christchurch and Dunedin, whe'-'c-the honeymoon will be spent. •
