(Red 10.15 p.m) LONDON, April 11 In the House of Commons during discussion.; of the Annual Army Bill-Mr Keir Hardie moved an amendment that a recruit should have the'-xight under contract to refuse to assist the civil power during- a trade dispute. Ho stated, that many youths were not enlisting because they might have to fire on their relatives and comrades. Colonel Seely said it was cruel and bad for soldiers to believe that . they were, engaged to shoot strikers. The amendment was rejected by 168 votes to 23. Mr L._ Chiozza Money introduced a motion 'demanding public . control of the coal mines. ; . , The House was counted out.
