Replying to a deputation of the Arbitration and Peace Association, pror testing against the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act, the Hon. A. M. Myers stated that while holding the utmost ■; respect for the conscientious opinions of those opposed to compulsory military training, it was his duty to see the law carried out, although; the Government regretted being compelled to allow the civil law to take its course when youths failed to register.
