■ o —^_ . HIS OPINION OF THE MINISTRY. (Per Press Association.) , HOKITIKA, April 10. The Hon James Colvin, Minister of Mines, was met to-nig-hv- by a- deputation from tho Westland . County Council in respect to a- number of local requirements. All matters brought under his notice, ho said, would receive his favourable consideration and attention. In the course of his reply tp,expressions of welcome -to ''he district the Minister said he was of opinion 'that the Ministry was an able^ thoroughly honest and straightforward one. . He predicted that' Mr Payne- and other Labour members would vote .-with the present Government for tlie" next three years, 'arid^that if ifliere was an appeal to 'the country before then he believed tho present Government would go back wi'h a fair majority and that Sir Josoplf Ward would yet be asked to again, lead the Liberal Party. Mr. Cohan leaves .to-morrow morning for Greymouth where he is to bo entertained in the evening".
