FALLEN SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL

WAITARA, Jan 17. At a meeting- last evening it was decided to take steps, to raise a' subscription for the purpose of erecting a monument in the Soldiers' Cemetery on which it is proposed will be inscribed the names.. of- the members of the regular forces and volunteers who were killed in engagements around the Waitara district in war of 1860 and 1861; also to properly attend to the care of the graves in the future.
