WELLLNTfeTON, Jan 16 The grass gallop at Trentbnm ]jrpvided fasti going 'this morning. Sir George Clifford's team were given a mode-rate test. 'Negative and Undecided galloped seven furlongs. The former, with the <best of the start and weights, got ihome first 'by eight lengths in 1.30 1-5 sec. ■ Obligant went half a mile in 50 1-5 sees. ' . ' _ ■ Merry Firank did the same journey in 50 2-5 sec. Birkline and Beacon covered a mile the former winning easily and covering" the last seven furlongs in 1.29 4-5 .sec. Heatherbrae injured his legs during the journey from Christchurch, ibut may be able to fulfil his>engagements. Gold Circle lias been scratched forthe meeting.
