May 14; : Detectives Lewis, Andrews, Cameron yesterday accomplished a smart piece of work in the iecovery of a great quantity "of valuable property of private inSivicluais. of Wellington. CoinsY of value which had ben stolen from Newtown Museum were also recovered as well- as. large quantities of plates cut from books in ,th-3 Witllington Public Library.

Captain A. Cooler has .■• resigned from the Union Company's service. He was formerly master , of the training- ship Dartford, and, more recently, was chief officer of the Maheho and Monowai.
