i'he Scottish agricultural commissioners w'ho*~recenxly .visited Australia, declare that dependence ~on single men is -^one or the most undesirable feature's of 'Australian country life. The demand tor married and childless couples is another objectionable phase.
They speak highly of the Agricul 2 tural High bchool and urge the need ot better co-ordination of scientific research work, and want of method, placing new-comers^ on the land, and Helping- them, to get a proper start. On the whole, they think that. Aiistraiia is a good dairymen's country, and conclude by stating chat it is curious how tew wealthy, industrial tcaies in Australia .have done anything for agricultural education. It appears from the newspapers that almost any body of sufficient public spirit: could assist in the developing of the country by monetary gifts.
