General : — This school— though falling this year a shade ibelow the remarkable record achieved at my last examination— still fully maintains its reputation for all round excellence, and its teachers have reason to be more than .gratified at the results obtained. Spelling was excellent in all classes, the average percentage obtained being- 97£. Arithmetic was excellent in Stds. VI, IV, 111, 11, and preparatory class ; and very igood ..indeed in Stds. V and I. Singing and musical drill was again excellent, the work in these departments toeing all that :could be desired. Writing was -vcellent in Stds: II and III; good in Std. -V; very- good in IV; arid very igood indeed in St. VI. The other subjects ranged from 'good to very good indeed — the latter mark predominating.- Throughout the whole of -the school work there was not a single weak subject.
