AN EXTRAORDINARY PROVISION. (By Telegraph — Per Press Association) NAPIER, Feb 2. A meeting of shopkeepers was held (here to-day to consider clause 13 of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act 1910, which . provides that in a /business conducted by partners, one of them must be registered as the occupier, thus placing the others in the position 'of employees, who could not work overtime for more ithan a certain inumSber of days. After discussion it was resolved tihat this meeting considers that clause which .makes it compulsiary fb reigister sfhops in name of one ipartner only, is an infringement on the rigfot of persons to worik on their own premises, whilst the shop is closed, land requests tfhe executive of the Employ-, ers' Federation 1b urge upon the Government the necessity of an immediate attention -'of -the provision.
