The pony stalls under the forecastle are now competed, and are ready to •receivei • the animaßs which will be brought on board on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. ■ A start was made this morning .o erect stalls for the remaining four ponies, for whom thereis not sufficient room under che forecastle. The decks have been well caulked and the stalls are being built on the port side of the main deck, between the galley and the ice house. The structure is being built of very stout timber and is firmly secured to the decks, as. it will have to stand the onslaughts of the big seas which will be encountered on the way south. The ponies will face inboard, and the house is being completely boarded up on ivhree sides, in order to. vgive •the ponies shelter from the weather. - A large staff of men was 'busily engaged to-day in loading supplies and stores obtained in New Zealand, consisting chiefly of preserved, meats, condensed milk, bacon,, flour, etc.
