The conference of Trade Unions and Socialists organisations has disapproved of the Labour Exchanges which supplied cheap non-union • labour.

On an average about three bicycles per week are at present being reported to the Chris .church police as missing. Enquiries by the police have frequently proved tihat the machines are not stolen, but are left leaning up against verandah post s by 'their owners whilst cycling about tfic city.
At West Bromwich three boys wore charged with stealing coal from the Birmingham. Canal Company by tliv•ing to the bottom of the canal and •bringing it to the surface; Those boys surely earned all the coal they found by 'diving for black diamonds.
