Four hours previously, when the crisis was at its height Tolstoi took his daughter- Tabana's hand' and, drew it towards him and said: "Wellthis is the end." That was all he said. The League of Feminine Culture is forming an international committee to consider the best means of hon oring Tolstoi's memory. The students at Kasan spent Sunday as a day foif mourning. The St. Petersburg Holy Synod decided that the Church will not participate ia the funeral or memorial services. • Barristers, literateurs, doctors and others are holding -meetings in connection with mourning and honoring the deceased.
