Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follows :— -Stormy, weather has prevailed in the South Is r land with heavy rain and snow and hail in parts, arid westerly and westerly "winds'. Strong' westerly winds have prevailed further' northwith changeable arid showery weather. The barometer has risen everywhere, and especially "•' in the south. The present indications are for southerly winds", strorijg to gale, soutEward .of Kawhia, arid East Cape, and strong westerlies elsewhere: The barometer will probably rise very high duriDg" the next two or three days-, '-'arid ~coTd> and showery weather is probable wi:h snow on the higher level's in the south with heavy seas oh the' 'West Coast, ! and increasing shortly southward of East Capje..
