He- £oes by the instructon of Lord Cre\ve, N with the object of keeping the Colonial Office dn touch with the development and aspirations of tha Dominion. , At the Coibnial Conference of 1907 the desire was generally expressed that the Home Government should send out responsible officials to visit our over-sea Dominions. Last year Sir Charles Lucas and Mr Pearson went to Australia and New Zealand. Mr Just now goes to Canada. He will visit Montreal and Toronto and Ottawa; if time serves he will go across the continent to Vancouver. He has no mission as the word is commonly understood; his business is to "go, Jook, see. and then report." Mr Just, who accompanied Mr Chamberlain to South Africa in 1902, is the permanent secretary to the Imperial Conference, and his visit of inspection is bound to have an influence upon the selection, of subjects to be discussed at the conference of Premiers, which is to take p]|aoe in Lons don next year about the time of the Coronation.
